Welcome to my world.
This is the world of my creations. The ones I make in my playground, where I let my mind wander and wonder. Where I search to connect various elements, and try to find a good flow, elegance and balance. Although most creations start as an idea in my head, the outcome is also implicitly shaped by the laws of physics of gravity and light.
My art also reflects me and my not always elegant flow through life. Me being me; it sounds so simple, but it always seems to be a bit out of sync with the rest of the world. How to balance remaining true to myself as well as respect others. Can I feel free to express myself without ever wondering why others are frowning?
To fill the need to express myself creatively, I initially followed evening classes. First I followed classes in silversmithing, later I tried ceramics. Eventually I wondered what would happen if I took my creative aspirations a bit more seriously. I went back to school, part time, and became a Sculpture student at the Academie Arendonk, Belgium. Five years later, I graduated in the summer of 2013. I enjoy working with my hands. It relaxes me.
By the way; I am Dutch and "sart" in Dutch means teasing in a slightly annoying way. I thought it was a nice coincidence. Feel free to get in touch via e-mail info@nicolesart.nl
